I did not set out to run a business.
There was no big plan and no carefully mapped route out of employment. In fact, at the time I was not working at all. I had been a stay at home mum while my children were young.
Life changed and I suddenly needed to earn an income, but I still needed work that fitted around the realities of family life. I did not want my children spending long days in after school clubs or whole school holidays in childcare if I could help it. I wanted to be able to provide for them while still being present for them.
Becoming a Virtual Assistant was something I had thought about before. It had quietly sat on the “maybe one day” list for a while.
Eventually I signed up for a VA course and started.
There was no big launch and no polished roadmap. I worked in the small spaces available to me. Nap times. Evenings. Any spare moment I could find.
It was slow and sometimes a bit scrappy. Occasionally exhausting too.
But it worked.
As my children grew older, the business grew with me. I gradually shaped my work around the kind of life I wanted. Flexible work. Meaningful projects. Space to keep exploring the things I enjoy, especially time outdoors and near the sea.
Over time I noticed something about many of the business owners I was supporting.
They had built something good. Work that genuinely helped people. But they were starting to reach capacity. Their diary was full. Their systems worked, but sometimes they felt a little fragile.
They wanted to help more people. Maybe move beyond one to one work. Maybe launch something new.
But they did not want chaos, and they did not want to spend evenings trying to figure out complicated tech.
That is where I tend to come in.
